Card making

Busy busy busy

I’ve not posted much the last few days as life has been hectic so not done much crafting. I’m today having a massive clear out of my craft room – I’ve just emerged for a cool down! The spare room used to be my craft room, then it became my Slimming World Office/craft room. After I gave up Slimming World as a consultant last year and I cleared a lot of SW stuff out, I’ve been finding it difficult to find anything. So …. everything is coming out and put back within reach. Plus I’ve forgotten what’s in the depths of the cupboards! Don’t think I’ll ever need to buy a card blank again! I’ll post ‘after’ photos later on. Have a good day – at least it’s about 10 degrees cooler today.

Twinkling H2O Cards Made Up

I stamped the flower and butterfly images using Versamark ink in my Tim Holtz stamping platform. I then heat embossed with Wow Embossing Powder Opaque Bright White. I coloured the images with LuminArte Twinkling H2O’s – Ivy Iris, Cherry Sorbet and Razzleberry. I also used these colours for the background of the butterflies. I matted the finished panels in coordinating card and made the cards up. As a finishing touch I splattered some of the same colours using a brush on the backgrounds and added pearl gems or Nuvo Drops in Pink Champagne and Wisteria Purple. Finished off with sentiments and peel offs.

Watercolour Flowers

I’ve not really done much water colouring but after watching a few videos on YouTube I had a go. I picked up a few tips and this was my first attempt on watercolour card. I used a small palette I already had plus my Twinkling H2O’s.

The main tip I saw was to lay water down on the pre stamped Versamark and white embossed image before adding the colour. I’m very pleased with the result so will be practicing more in future as I think water coloured flowers look beautiful.

Lilac Fairies

I’m really into my pinks, lilacs and greens at the moment – it helps having embellishments like Nuvo Drops, Shimmer Powders and Distress Oxides all in those colours as I then have a selection of similar colours to use. This is the front, inside left and inside right of the same card. I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide for the front background and various rubber stamps. The insert and die cuts are from a Hunkydory kit.

Pixie Dust

Large topper made using Creative Expressions Craft Cosmic Coloured Pixie Dust (appropriate for a pixie card!) in Rich Gold on top of Tonic Studios Nuvo Shimmer Powder Cherry Bomb. The Pixie toppers are from Hunkydory. I die cut a fairy (don’t know what make) and finished off with letters and Tonic Studios Nuvo Drops in Ebony Black and Pink Champagne. I will share the finished card when I make it up as the Nuvo Drops will have dried differently.

Neverending Card

My first attempt at a neverending card with the kit free with @papercraftermag. Could drive you crackers! I decorated it with the toppers and stamps in the kit plus a few stickers I already had. Will definitely make another one / I love unusual shaped cards 💙

Nuvo Tonic Shimmer Backgrounds Made Into Cards

Here are the backgrounds I made recently turned into cards. I’ve enjoyed making the backgrounds but I’m going to use up a few of my kits next. I’ve separated the die cuts out and sorted according to colour so I can just pick out what I want to use quickly. Hope you like them, just easy matting and layering to make these up. The second one down is actually a whole sheet from a Debbi Moore kit, I didn’t make that background. 💙
