Special cards for special people

A while ago I was asked to make 12 cards for a wheelchair display team from by their trainer. They use the butterfly symbol to symbolise the freedom they feel when dancing so I had to include a butterfly on each card. They have done exceptionally well in their competitions and the trainer wanted some special cards to congratulate them and to say well done. I used my Kanban Magnificence set and dies. The trainer was thrilled with them; she has now sent them out and said I can share the photo of them.

Altenew Floral Card

I’ve not been crafting as much recently as I was away and life has been extra busy. Here is my latest make. My Altenew stamps made into a topper. I showed a friend the photo yesterday and she wants it made into a card for her mum. I painted the flowers with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Japanese Watercolour Paints then added a touch of Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen. Then there is a photo of the finished card.

Seahorse Cards

My latest batch of cards made using some of the toppers I had started – not added sentiments yet. All made with my new Kuretake Gansai Tambi Japanese Watercolour Paints (36 Colour Set) from Amazon. The stamps were from @Wish and the starfish embellishments and coloured beads were too. I highlighted the seahorses with gold Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers. The other embellishments were my favourite Nuvo Drops to match the backgrounds. I used a metallic multicolour stamp for some of the greenery and added highlights with a white gel pen. All in my favourite colours! If you know anyone who would like a card like this please get in touch.

Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolour paints

I’ve been playing with my new watercolours today. I saw them on a jennifermcguireink video and she recommended them. They are by Kuretake Gansai Tambi Japanese Watercolour Paints (36 Colour Set) which I bought on Amazon and arrived today. Not brilliant photos but I couldn’t wait to share. I will post the finished cards when they are done. The paints are beautiful and so easy to use – almost make me look good. If you want any crafting ideas then watch Jennifer’s videos – they are so clear and informative – so glad I found her when searching for craft videos. My other two favourites that I follow on You Tube and Instagram are The Hedgehog Hollow and Katherine Warner. Check them out.

First Christmas Card Made!

First Christmas Card made with the set free with the Papercrafter Magazine that my article is in. I used clear Nuvo Drops for the snow to fill the white space. I cut a piece of the card in the set to make the ground, popped out the die cuts, trimming any edges that were needed, and layered them up on the card.

I made this yesterday, I tried going in the craft room today but according to my car it’s 36.5 degreees today and as hot air rises, upstairs is out of bounds today – unless I want to end up as a puddle on the floor 😃

Kanban Jan

I won a handmade card by Kanban Jan recently after commenting on a Facebook post. Jan is one of Kanban products designers who also does demos on Create and Craft. This is what she sent me – an unusual easel card – one straight – one twisted – in my favourite card making colours of pink and purple. I will definitely have a go at making something similar. Love it!

Holiday

Sorry I’ve been quiet on here but I’ve been away staying with my sister in Cornwall. I’m now back and will start blogging again.

I am pleased to say one of my cards has been featured in Papercrafter Magazine for August – the magazine arrived today. I’ve won a calligraphy set! I’ll share photos and how I get on when it arrives.

I’ve posted a couple of photos below from my holiday. I’m a keen photographer and love taking colourful photos – must be my artistic streak 😃

Happy crafting

Lavinia Card

I really love the Lavinia range and after watching a few background tutorials I made this. Hope you like it. I used several colours blended to make the background. First I filled the whole panel with pink, masking a circle hit the moon. Then I added a lilac, then purple round the sides. I added yellow round the moon and for the moon. I stamped the edges with stamps and Versafine black ink, plus the flying fairies. I added clear Wink of Stella round the edge of the moon and dots of white gel pen to highlight. Really pleased with the result matted onto card.
